Funso O. Richard PrizeThe Funso Oris Prize for African Undergraduates (FOPAU) is a prize awarded to an African creative who doubles as an undergraduate in any of the universities in Africa. The prize is aimed at the development, celebration, and promotion of creative writing from African universities. Funso O. Richard, a poet, an anthologist, and a curator of explorative poetic styles, who has been investing in creative writing legacies in Africa for more than 25 years, initiated the prize. FOPAU rewards three creative writers in three different genres — poet, storyteller, and visual artist each with $200 every year. Check the submission guidelines.
Editor’s ChoiceEvery year we will receive submissions from writers and visual artists to include in our blog, biannual chapbooks and biannual issues. Editor’s choice is a commitment to choosing one piece of work out of all our published works. This piece most resonates across all genres.
